Between Two Foams: The Comfort Scale

Mar 16, 2016 | by Melanie Albert

One of the most common questions that come up when mattress shopping is the difference between soft, medium, and firm. Our Comfort Scale is designed to help make your mattress buying experience simple and easy.

Very Soft

Feels like… a cloud.

Looking for something “cloud-like”? Our Very Soft firmness preference will give you an enveloping softness, leaving you cozily cradled. An excellent selection for anyone who is looking for as much pressure relief as possible.

Feels like… a marshmallow.

For something with a bit less “squish”, our Soft firmness preference will give you a nice, plush cradle effect with a touch more firmness. An excellent selection for anyone who is looking for a high amount of pressure relief.

Medium Soft

Feels like… a stale marshmallow.

Medium Soft mattress has a plush surface. Be prepared for some relieving pressure relief without too much softness.

Feels like… the Goldilocks bed.

Otherwise known as the “Goldilocks” zone, a Medium mattress offers the perfect balance of comfort and support for those who are right, smack-dab in the middle.

Medium Firm

Feels like… a Luxury Firm.

The most popular selection, Medium Firm is most closely related to your typical luxury firm. It’s the best selection for someone who wants a firm mattress with a good amount of give.

Feels like… a yogamat.

If you like firm, but not quite as hard as a rock, give our Firm preference a try. A small amount of padding may be all you need to sleep soundly through the night.

Very Firm

Feels like… the floor (almost).

Prefer something hard to the touch? Very Firm is your best bet. This mattress will be very rigid, and is ideal for customers who want a stiff surface with just a hint of softness.
